Ingredients
  

  • Ingredients:
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 –4 medium potatoes peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
  • ½ cup milk
  • cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Optional garnish: parsley or green onions

Instructions
 

  • Preheat Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook the Ground Beef:
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add diced onion and cook until soft.
  • Add ground beef and garlic, season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Cook until beef is browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Prepare the Sauce:
  • In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth.
  • Stir in half of the shredded cheese.
  • Assemble the Casserole:
  • Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish.
  • Top with half the ground beef mixture.
  • Pour half of the soup mixture over the top.
  • Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef, and sauce.
  • Cover tightly with foil.
  • Bake:
  • Bake covered for 50–60 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
  • Add Cheese & Finish Baking:
  • Remove foil, sprinkle remaining cheese over top.
  • Bake uncovered for an additional 10–15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve:
  • Let sit for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley or green onions if desired.
